Introduction
Hydrological modeling has been used since long manually including hydrographs and other supporting tools. Computer being wide spread, and approach integrating hydrological modeling with GIS technology is so powerful. When integrated with hydrological modeling, GIS also provides opportunities for spatial analysis and data management. We’ll be considering glacier melting contribution in Hunza River Basin accumulating parameters like snow cover, climate data (precipitation & temperature), River runoff, soil type, land use/land cover and DEM etc for pre and post processing using two different hydrological models with GIS.
Objectives
->GIS processing (watershed delineation) using two different models SPHY and ArcSWAT) in two different packages (ArcGIS and QGIS) and analyzing its response.
->Uncertainties in hydrological models (to find out how close the two models simulate the reality).
->Strengths and weaknesses of using SPHY and ArcSWAT using same input data.
->To determine sensitive parameters(input variables) for SPHY and ArcSWAT.
